Home for the Holidays is a cozy quartet of unique single casks to be enjoyed throughout the remainder of 2019 and into the New Year! This flight combines bolder and more nuanced drams for an exhilarating taste experience with whisky-loving friends and family. We start with a bold and beautiful Speyside malt in Cask 85.55 Fresh and smooth. The nose seriously pops with loads of floral, tropical and vanilla aromas before the palate takes us to a freshly citric and herbal place. Juicy fruitiness returns with water for a rich and voluptuous start. Cask 44.112 Spellbinding shortbread shows us what additional maturation in a toasted hogshead can bring to the table. Exotic aromas and flavours redolent with boozy dried fruits, chocolate and spice will complement desserts but captivate just as easily on theor own. Our next dram is an unpeated expression from Islay – Cask 10.178 The sleeping giant awoken! shows us the complexity and nuance achievable from an Islay cask that does not use peated barley. Orchard and citrus fruits, confections, herbs and spices all contribute to a parade of aromas and flavours in a robust, yet refined, delivery. Our last malt represents a rarely seen peated Speysider in single cask form. Cask 108.16 Buttery salty caramel promises a certain level of confectionary appeal that delivers! Caramel, smoked seafood and barrel spice are accentuated by menthol, vanilla and flowers for a wild whisky certain to please peat heads and mainland purists alike.
