This was a real sniffer’s dram which we could have nosed all night – aromas of toasted oak, coconut, pear and caramelised white chocolate galette, marzipan, pinesap and leather…the list could go on and on! What a surprise on the palate neat; this packed a real punch with plenty of spice and charred woody notes next to a warming, never-ending, earthy tobacco grand finale. Well, what would a drop of water do? We detected a charring scent, pineapple, toffee and oak while to taste - much smoother, thicker and rich like a boozy affogato, sweet chocolate ice cream, amaretto and a steaming espresso topped with toasted hazelnuts – irresistible!
