Cask No. 54.78

Sugarcane flowers in Speyside

Speyside, Spey

The nose neat reminded us of a sweet liqueur wine from Andalucía called Vino de naranja - white wine flavoured with sun-dried and macerated orange peel - certainly brought a smile to our faces! Amazingly exciting, vibrant, bold and sweet on the palate like a fire limbo dancer achieving a seemingly impossible low set bar. Diluted, we walked the streets of Seville during orange blossom and in a sugar cane field at sunrise whilst chewing on a small piece of the peeled sugar cane. After 16 years in an ex-bourbon barrel we transferred this whisky into a refill barrel that previously matured Nicaraguan rum.
