How to kill your Dragon

England

Pure wood ashes and charred embers. Newspaper ash, sooty coal scuttles, snapped twigs, green peppercorns toasting on a skillet and sizzling bacon. Notes of pork scratching, marmite, tar extract, medical embrocations and pure seawater. A seesaw between the seashore and the farmyard. Water settles everything down to a bass-like smoky kedgeree of kipper oils, citrus juices, herbal resins, toasted pine cones and cough mixtures. The palate is hot and pin-sharp with lemon juice, silage, hot mud, caraway distillate, pure hospital corridors and powerful ointments. Some gorse bush leads to lighter herbal touches and hints of brake fluid and graphite oil. With a generous dollop of water there's a beautifully light and intricate lattice of medicines, embrocations, herbal extracts, wood resins and salinity. Mental but enchanting.
