Cask No. 112.39
Tractors and old medicine
Highland, Southern
A brazen set of aromas greeted us from the brim of the glass. Potent notes of aspirin, ink, antique furniture, steel wool, used sandpaper, caramel wafer biscuits and soot all vied for the Panel’s attention. Water revealed coal tar soap, bubble gum, wallpaper, cherry syrup, lime zest and damp sack cloth. The adventure continued in the mouth with vanilla cream, wood spice, cut grass, linseed oil, walnuts and a grating of nutmeg. Dilution gave us digestive biscuits, herb butter and a comforting, earthy waxiness, eventually fading to camphor, hessian and lighter notes of aged ointments in the aftertaste.
