Start on the Kintyre Peninsula with Campbeltown’s Cask 93.107 Flexing the mussels for a dram that transports tasters to a seaside café where they’ll enjoy a smorgasbord of fruits de mer. Head north to the small village of Wick for a nuanced expression in Cask 52.25 A morning at the beach. The citrus, spice and maritime character in this Highland dram is an excellent example of the ‘oily & coastal’ flavour profile, doting on the coastal aspect. Cask 10.173 Selkie caviar is another ‘oily & coastal’ whisky that drives home the oily aspects of the profile. It’s all about texture and complexity with this young and powerful malt from the north eastern corner of Islay. Finish in Port Askaig on Islay with Cask 53.287 Ye olde medisin for a textbook peated expression from Scotland’s most popular island. Smoke, salinity and seafood combine for a beautiful dram to finish your summer flight.
