For a moment like this, we recommend a duo of malts that are sure to have you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. “Love at first sight” offers two beautiful Speyside malts! Cask 12.45 Leafy, lemony and lovely opens with a delightful duo of flowers and herbs before expanding to include notes of ginger, citrus and tropical fruits. Cask No. 59.64 Get lost... is full of lemon thyme and elderflower, dried mango and char-grilled pineapple, hand-tooled leather, scorched wood, vanilla and champagne! YOU CAN’T HURRY LOVE

No matter how long it takes! Love is patience, hard work, and sometimes a game of give and take! Much like love, whisky cannot be rushed, and Cask No. 35.273 Flower arranging in the sunshine is a great example of this! After 24 years in a first fill barrel, many layers of flavours were created! The immediate nose was delicate and lovely, with freshly polished wood, custard-filled choux pastries and “flower arranging in the sunshine while baking cakes”. However, there was also salted popcorn, old cognac and something from the humidor. The palate was sweet, juicy, fruity, spicy and rich, had spun sugar and salted caramel, Eccles cakes and fig yoghurt, with lemon peel and coconut in the lingering finish. The reduced nose seemed even more floral – jasmine, meadowsweet and flower shop counters; candied ginger and bananas flambé with brown sugar and cinnamon. The palate now showcased cherry brandy, Mon Cheri chocolates, marzipan, plum jam and tobacco. A dram to pause and enjoy!

SEA OF LOVE

Ready to take things to the next level, to jump aboard the ship setting sail on the sea of love? Cask No. 53.351 Dr. Reelgood is sure to provide the inspiration you’re looking for! Whether you want to share your feelings with a special someone or take the leap into the peated profile, this dram is sure to match your feels with the sweetness of Turkish delight and juicy fruit jellies combined with liquorice and wood ash! On the palate, abundant sweetness with vanilla and brioche bread with soft berry fruits and charred prawns. The doctor arrived with water and brought hints of hospital wards and iodine along with seaweed, nettles and soft cream soda. A sea of flavours to match your new adventure on the sea of love!

LET’S STAY TOGETHER

On this special day of love, why not celebrate with a very special dram? Whether this is your first or fiftieth Valentine’s Day together, skip the flowers and go for a different kind of bouquet! Cask 26.151 Fragrance clings to the hand that gives flowers is truly a work of art! A heavenly hue of perfumed delight pictured rose petals falling through fragrant sandalwood incense and landing onto the thick wax of a polished church organ beside a pair of beeswax candles. The gentle spice of hot cross buns and textures of melted butter coated the mouth as a sweet caress of Brazil nuts, walnut oil and jasmine flowers pleased the senses. A most memorable dram to share with your very special loved one!
