 Click on pictures to enlarge | In recent years, there has been an explosion of interest and demand for Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Since 1983 The Scotch Malt Whisky Society has provided its members the very finest and rarest of single malts known as single cask, single malt whisky. Individual casks are selected by The Society's tasting committee, a group comprised of nine of Scotland's acknowledged experts in the field of single malt scotch whisky. The committee selects only the finest of matured whiskies available from Scotland's premier distilleries. Unlike the commercial single malts available on retailers shelves, the Society's whiskies are undiluted and are taken straight from the cask. Each cask yields about 275 bottles at an average strength of 120 and is individual in taste. Since Society whiskies do not go through the process of chill filtration, the intensity of their flavor is unparalleled. |
Since its inception, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society has been hosting its
own unique style of tasting events for its members and their guests. These
events are both festive and educational. They include an unprecedented
selection of rare single malts, a sumptuous buffet, and a brief educational
lecture. In cases where the enjoyment of cigars is acceptable, a selection
of premium imported cigars to pair with the whiskies is provided at the end
of the event. As a result, significant networking opportunities have been
experienced in both business and fundraising activities.
Due to numerous requests from our members to host a Society tasting event for their company or a fund-raiser, the Society has organized a team of event planners. The events planning staff will custom design a program to accommodate a client's particular requirements. In the past two years, the Society has successfully hosted prestigious corporate events for companies such as Fox/Metromedia Network. Successful fund-raisers include: Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Long Island AIDS Network, and the Dance Company of East Harlem.

The Society's Director of Corporate Events has an outstanding track record in planning, managing, and hosting successful corporate functions. Our staff pays particular attention to client needs and budget limits. Among the standard services provided are:

The Society offers a wide selection of options from spectacular hors d'oeuvres to grand buffets or even full course game dinners. Special attention is given to properly pairing the foods with Society whiskies and with any cigars that may follow.
Costs
The total cost of a tasting event is entirely based upon client's choice of venue, food, beverage, cigars, etc. The cost for the whisky portion of the event is based upon the specific whiskies you purchase.
